Finding Topics
Hallo, Everyone today I will discuss about Finding Topics
| TOPICS |
- How to finding the topic:
1. Collect sub-sub-topics from each
paragraph
2. Read each paragraph carefully, from the first paragraph to the end
3. Reread paragraph.so that we are more sure on what topics have been found
- How to narrow the topic:
1. Avoiding new conflicts, because if the topic is still hotly discussed then the topic will expand and usually will be out of topic
2. Using 5w+1h ( what, who, where, why, when + How)
- Terms of Good Topic
1. The topic must catch the author's attention.
Topics that can attract attention will make writers feel motivated continuously to look for data for the problems at hand. Writers will also feel compelled to finish well. On the other hand, if the topic is not in accordance with the author's interest, the writer will feel lazy to work on it and can cause errors.
2. Topic must be understood/know
The writer should know what the topic will be written in the text.
3. Don't be too new, or controversial
Topics that are too new or controversial may get the writer stuck if they don't really understand the writing.
4. Helpful
The topic should be useful. Can be developed and useful for everyday life.

1. Not too “broad”
2. The chosen topic is around us
3. The topic must be interesting
4. The scope of the topic is narrow and limited
5. The topic has objective and factual data
